Jane L. David is director of the Bay Area Research Group in Palo Alto,CA. A former high school teacher and Harvard Ed.D., her research and evaluation focus on links between education policy and improving schools, particularly those serving students at risk of failure. Larry Cuban is Professor Emeritus of Education at Stanford University. Trained as a historian, he has been an urban superintendent, high school teacher, professor, and is the author of more than a dozen books on schools and education policy.
