Beyond the initial training in how to do soul retrievals, the transformational information you find in this book was a direct gift to Maryphyllis by her primary spirit guides. The intention of it initially was for her own healing and spiritual growth. This was because there were no other humans who could help her attain the deep level of integration and transformation that her spirit guides said was needed. In fact, several people said that a soul retrieval doesn't need inner follow-up work, and that all a person needs to do is to just continue working on their issues. In the beginning Maryphyllis tried doing that but found herself becoming more deeply mired in the negativity of her soul parts. When she first set up her private practice she also witnessed how two of her clients treated their soul parts in an uncaring, thoughtless manner. It was clear to her that they did not fully grasp their soul parts' significance. This disturbed her so much that she felt compelled to write down what Spirit's guidance has been at each stage of the transformation process. As she applied Spirit's lessons in her life, she experienced greater wholeness, wonder, joy, peace and much less fear. These wonderful feelings created an even greater desire to share what she found. The remainder is devoted to what the soul part needs when it returns to you, how to effectively and satisfyingly work with it, what to expect in the process and what pitfalls to avoid. Numerous stories from clients illustrate methods and out-comes. Methods are designed for use within the shamanic journey but can also be used in other trance forms.

Maryphyllis Horn received her B.A. in music education from Gettysburg College, PA, and her M.Ed. in music education from Penn State University, PA. For 31 years she taught public high school award-winning choral music. During much of this time she studied metaphysical and holistic topics, culminating in ordination from Sancta Sophia Seminary, a metaphysical, interfaith seminary in Tahlequah, OK. In 1993 she left teaching, to study Transpersonal Psychology at The Naropa Institute, CO. It was there that she experienced a profound mystical calling to shamanism. Within a few months' time she learned the basics of Shamanism, soul retrieval and other deep shamanic studies from the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, CA. She also was certified in spiritual hypnotherapy at the Alchemical Hypnotherapy Institute, CO. In 1995 she set up a private practice in shamanic counseling and healing, along with hypnotherapy, in Pittsboro, NC. Maryphyllis' primary calling is to help people get in touch with their inner guidance, mend their soul through soul retrieval and soul transformation, and heal their past so that they can tap into their individual missions when they are ready to do so. In order to facilitate this, she has studied with additional human teachers as well as her own Spirit teachers. She became certified in Thought Field Therapy, Past-Life Therapy, and Karmic Matrix Clearing; she has studied Feng Shui, Aura Cleansing, and become a level III Reconnection(r) practitioner. Extensive though it is, her study with human teachers has formed but a small part of her spiritual training. Since embarking on the shamanic path in 1994, the vast majority of her instruction has been from her own Spirit helpers, aka power animals and spirit teachers. As part of helping her heal herself, they have given her volumes of insights and methods to help others heal themselves. Ancestral Lines Clearing and the information in this book are but a small portion of those gifts from Spirit.
