Synopsis

BETTER THINKING, BETTER RESULTS answers the question: "How do you conduct a Lean transformation?" It is a detailed case study and analysis of The Wiremold Company's enterprise-wide Lean transformation.

This Shingo Prize-winning book is the first detailed account of a true enterprise-wide Lean transformation, led by CEO Art Byrne, in which both core principles — "continuous improvement" and "respect for people" — were actually practiced.

Drawing on candid interviews with Wiremold's senior team, BETTER THINKING, BETTER RESULTS delivers a rare how-to manual that reaches far past the factory floor into engineering, new product development, operations, suply chain, marketing, sales, accounting, human resources, acquisitions, and the boardroom.

This Second Edition adds a Postscript on Wiremold's sale to Legrand, four lessons on sustaining Lean over time, introduces Emiliani's now-classic distinction between "Real Lean" and "Fake Lean," and original change-over models for the kaizen method, the Lean transformation, and leadership development.

It is the definitive Lean transformation guide for any company in any industry.
