The Difference between Great-Love and Egoic-love.

Great-Love heals. Great-Love transforms. It is God in action. Into dark spaces, Great-Love brings Light. Into shame and judgment, it brings forgiveness. Great-Love is a mother's unconditional embrace and a father's unreserved steadfastness.

Great-Love is felt when our dog greets us upon our return, and is felt when our cat comes to sit on our lap when we are crying. Great-Love can be experienced through deep friendships, selfless service, intimate relationships and through immersion in Nature.

When brought to painful childhood memories lodged in the unconscious, Great-Love is the energy that clears, frees, and rights them. It releases the past and opens the door to the present. It judges nothing. It includes everything.

Our ego knows nothing about Great-Love. Its version of love (with a lowercase 'l') is focused on getting what it wants. Our ego's version of love is transactional; it keeps score: I give this, you provide that. Ego-based love is about what our ego gets from something. The more it gets what it wants, the more it loves what it receives.

About the Author

Rick Moss, PhD, is an intuitive counselor. His depth of intuition enriches the power of his work. He can understand where a client is trapped in the past and can specifically support the client in becoming more present and more aware of their True and Deepest Self.
