Fr. Alan Phillip, C.P, is a Catholic priest and member of the Passionist Religious Congregation. He received his Masters of Divinity from St. Meinrad School of Theology in St. Meinrad, IN, and has pursued further theological studies at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, IL. Since his ordination, Fr. Alan has served as Associate Pastor at Immaculate Conception parish in Chicago, IL, and as Pastor at St. Agnes Parish in Louisville, KY. He has also worked at the Passionist Retreat Centers in Detroit, MI, and Warrenton, MO. Presently he resides at the Passionist Retreat Center in Sierra Madre, CA., where he assists at retreats and ministers at local parishes. Fr. Alan is the author of three books: “Our Hearts at Sunday Mass.” This book highlights the values celebrated at Sunday Mass and relates them to our experiences throughout the week. “From Blues to Smiles to Joy.” This book suggests thirty practical steps to help people overcome everyday depression and have a great day. “Ten Things You Must Do Before You Die.” Fr. Alan’s ministry has put him in contact with the sick, the dying, and those who have died suddenly. Over the years, he has celebrated over 800 funerals. This book comes from that experience. In whatever ministry, both in word and action, Fr. Alan says he always tries to accent the positive. "A person's self-image affects their ability to hope, dream, dare, and achieve. Through common sense, the teachings of faith, and unconditional acceptance, I try to build up a person's sense of self-worth." Through his preaching, writing, and photography, Fr. Alan continually assures people of the beauty and goodness of God's creation, starting with the human person.
