The Guide is the companion of an eight-week online ESME Lead Complex Change course that engages participants in multiple short cycles of adaptive action in their everyday sticky and challenging issues. Participants learn to use and understand sustainable practical models and methods that work in both simple and complex leadership situations. A unique feature of the course is the focus on individual's health and wellbeing as a medical educator, teacher, practitioner, and administrator. Being a medical educator and health practitioner, especially if you are involved in introducing new patterns of teaching, assessing, and curriculum organization, is very stressful. Participants' attention to their own health in the workplace has become a valued part of the course. Four essential themes will be interwoven during the eight-week course: --Leading at the edge of uncertainty --Working better together --Finding the fix that fits --Making the good better
