Synopsis

On A Roll: How It Feels To Be On Wheels is the story of Katie Rodriguez Banister, who became a quadriplegic after an auto accident at the age of 25 years old. Resigned to life in a wheelchair, she thought her life was over but the truth was a new life was just beginning.

Through intimate storytelling, Katie shares her personal search for self-acceptance, love, and survival. Nothing is off limits as she honestly shares her journey through moments of depression and anger and, later, the extraordinary story of how she met and fell in love with her husband, Steve.

Katie’s journey of coping, finding hope and living full-out, is an inspiring combination of self-reflection and bravery that will inspire you to find the beauty in the bad. Life is going to hurt but the hurt isn’t an ending, it is the beginning of something different.

“Heartfelt, funny, educational and brutally honest. From family dynamics to the accident, rehab, bladder management and dating, a real love story and spiritual journey.” - JET, The Expert, Book Reviewer
