Jeremy Vaeni is author of "I Know Why The Aliens Don't Land!", "Urgency.", and "Into The End". One day he realized he had too many screenplays sitting in a drawer, doing no one any good, so he decided to convert them into the B-Movies In A Book series. He wrote "Free Space" in its original screenplay form in 1999 after having been subjected to months of nightly bingo in Sacramento, California. Much of the dialogue you read here happened or was inspired by bingo hall conversations. The script, as they say, practically wrote itself.
