Synopsis

Blue Ridge Veterinarian captures the essence of life in a small, Mayberry kind-of-town in western North Carolina. The folks you meet through Dr. Brooks' vet practice are just as captivating as their farm animals and furry companions. Humorous scenes will catch you laughing out loud and the sentimental moments may well bring tears to your eyes; and you can catch up on the latest news at the community watering hole—the barbershop. For many folks in Transylvania County, Dr. Brooks has become an extended part of their families. As he cares for the stallion soon to be gelded or calms and mends a dog that ran afoul of fence wire, his stories reveal that over the years the good doctor has also come to know something of the ways of human nature as well . . . from the heroic to the hardened. Journey beside this kind-hearted country vet from the barn to the office surgical suite and meet the creatures and their humans. You will want to visit again and again with Dr. Brooks and the folks who come to life within these pages.
