Arthur T. Hadley is a writer and journalist. He received his BA from Yale in 1949, graduating in three years as Scholar of the House, Magna cum Laude. He enlisted in the Army out of high school, retiring as a major and a highly decorated tank officer. He covered the Korean War and the Truman and Eisenhower White Houses for 'Newsweek', and was an Assistant Executive Editor of the 'New York Herald Tribune'. He won several prizes for his magazine reporting from Vietnam in 1969, and later became Washington Bureau Chief of the 'New Times' Magazine. He is the author of numerous magazine articles, two plays, and ten books, including 'The Straw Giant', published in 1986 by Random House Publishers. He has been Press Secretary to three Democratic presidential candidates during their primary campaigns, and is a founding member of the International Institute of Strategic Studies in London.
