“Numbers and Shapes” is the 2nd book in the series for children “Back To Basics – Regreso a Lo Básico.” In this book children learn numbers from 0 to 21 and the names of 19 shapes. From 3 to 10 all numbers are paired with shapes that have as many sides. For example: Triangle for 3, hexagon for 6 and decagon for 10. In this book there are two questions: one about the number and the other about the shape. It also has two “Alphabet Soups” and twice as many exercises! To help with pronunciation, audio is available upon request. Books in this series are designed to “grow” with the child! For babies, colors and pictures are very attractive. For non-readers, colorful pictures engage them. They enjoy answering the questions! For the beginner reader, some parent/teacher help may still be needed with the questions. For readers, learning Spanish or English or both is very easy! The book “Numbers and Shapes” is intended to be used at home and in the classroom, therefore, “Notes to Parents and Teachers” have been included to introduce the use of gender and number with numbers and shapes, and to compare their use in Spanish and English.
