Synopsis

Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg is regarded as the Civil War's most disastrous battle action. This history brings you an "eyeball" account...a horrendous echo from nearly 150 years ago. The valiant men of Virginia's 56th Volunteer Infantry Regiment were in the middle...of the front line...in Pickett's Charge. They saw it, felt it, lived (and died) it all. The men of the 56th Virginia also fought in many other major battles in the east, and even one in the west. And you'll find a world of fascinating detail about Confederate camp life durinmg America's Civil War years. You'll find amazing geneological data in the bios of near 1,500 who served in Virginia's 56th Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the four years of America's Civil War.
