À propos de l'auteur

Born in 1945, and raised in the State of Maryland, George M. abused alcohol and narcotics at the age of 14. During 1964, he became completely addicted to alcohol and, in 1971, wanting to "control" his drinking, he returned to narcotics. His first attempt at recovery (with only an "idea of a Higher Power")was in 1971 and lasted about two and one-half years. His second attempt began in 1982 (with a Higher Power and a determination not to use or abuse) and lasted twelve years, seven months, and two weeks. His current entry into recovery began on August 8, 1996 and is still active. The missing part of his previous attempts was the Twelve Steps of Recovery. After five years in recovery, in order to remain a "Student of Recovery" he began to collect the thoughts, slogans, and stories that were discussed in the rooms of recovery. In the "Spirit of Passing it on" he has compiled the contents of this book. George is an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. He is also a Life Member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and is currently a Charter Member of its Easton, Maryland Chapter.
