Marcus E. Turner, Sr. has been the senior pastor of Beulah Baptist Church since 1999. He serves as the principal overseer, primary shepherd, and prophetic visionary of the congregation. Dr. Turner has written countless manuscripts on theological matters, conducted lectures for several professional organizations, and broadcasted in more than eight states. As the nucleus for community development in Deanwood Heights, Dr. Turner has served as the chairman and president of Beulah Community Improvement Corporation since 2001. In his role of president, he has formulated and presented revolutionary policies and planning recommendations to the board of directors. Dr. Turner is currently guiding two affordable housing development projects at Beulah Crossing: Eden Place, a sixty-three-unit townhome development, and Eastbrooke, a thirty-nine-unit rental apartment development. In addition he has written proposals and secured public and private funding for community programming, which has brought a multiplicity of human services to the community, such as, GED, adult education, affordable housing, health promotion, clothes drive, food, outreach, youth & senior programming, computer training, and economic development. Dr. Turner has developed curriculum for various institutions and has taught on different levels, including the post-secondary level. Currently he serves as a faculty member with the University of Phoenix. He received his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) in 1999 and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2009. He has been married for seventeen years and is the father of four children.
