Through all the temptations, will he stay true to himself and to his wife, Leanya? Will he ever be accepted for his talents and respected for his vision? Can a man like Korli make it in Liberia?

À propos de l'auteur

Wilton Sankawulo was Liberia’s most prominent writer and folklorist, and a leading expert on traditional culture. Born in 1937 in Haindi, Bong County, he was educated at Lutheran mission schools, Cuttington University College, Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, and the University of Iowa, where he earned his MFA in English. He was a Professor of English and Literature at the University of Liberia, and taught creative writing classes and workshops at various colleges in the United States. As a civil servant, Sankawulo held several government positions in Liberia—most notably Chairman of the Council of State from 1995-96. Birds Are Singing, his last and most important novel, was published posthumously.
