Synopsis

This book examines the chronology of events (what happened when) during the time of the New Testament. This bold new chronology begins with the date for the Immaculate Conception and the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and continues through the life of Christ, from His Incarnation and Birth, through his childhood and the flight to Egypt, to His Baptism by John, His Divine Ministry, and His Crucifixion, Resurrection and Assumption. The year, and in some cases the day and month, of each of these events is explained, with support from many different sources. The chronology presented includes events in the early Church: the writing of the Gospels, the martyrdoms of Peter and Paul, and of St. Mark the Evangelist, as well as the Fall of Jerusalem during the war between the Jews and the Romans. This work of Roman Catholic Biblical chronology revises the usual dates for events in Roman history and in the New Testament. One basis for this revision is an analysis of the eclipse and comet sightings mentioned by Roman historical texts. Another is the belief that the Bible contains true and accurate historical information about the lives of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary.
