Lesson Plans Ahoy! (now in its second edition) is a resource for sailing families heading out on a short cruise, an ocean crossing, or a year of home schooling. The book includes detailed instructions for ten units in Science, Math, Writing, History, Navigation, and Physical Education; all are designed to be fun, practical, and relevant to sailing children. An extensive introduction and appendices help home-schooling parents choose or design their own curriculum. Another appendix links all science, math, and writing units to curricular standards from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

À propos de l'auteur
Nadine Slavinski is a teacher, sailor, and parent. She holds a Master's degree in Education from Harvard University. She has been teaching in international schools since 1996. A life-long sailor, in 2007-2008 she took a year-long sailing sabbatical with her husband and young son. On their 35 foot sloop, the family explored the Mediterranean, crossed the Atlantic, cruised the Caribbean, and sailed on to home waters in Maine. Slavinski's writing has appeared in a number of sailing and educational magazines and websites.
