Bird Snacks
There are almost 10,000 species of birds, and many of them eat just one type of food such as nectar, seeds, nuts, insects, fish, snakes, or carrion (dead animals). A bird’s beak usually gives good clues about what types of foods the bird eats. Long, thin beaks, such as the hummingbird’s beak, help get nectar from deep inside flowers. Parrot beaks are short and strong, while owl and vulture beaks have sharp hooks for tearing flesh.
