Synopsis
The world is rushing toward collapse, and humanity is on the brink of extinction. The forces of materialism rule supreme, but the remnants of the Light Brotherhood are making a final, desperate effort, and the fate of, well, everything rests on Sparkle Cassidy, a quirky millennial from a family of neo-hippie survivalists, and a mixed group of eleven fellow college students who subconsciously volunteer to help. In Volume 1, the students are plunged into the World Memory, and experience the long-lost ancient history of Humanity. They are there when Humanity Falls into Matter, and Sensation. Vol. 1 ends in old Lemuria as the group attempts to lead a family to safety while the ancient city of Sommorah erupts around themI skidded to a stop, jerked out my “pepper” spray, and glanced around. A tall, dark, menacing figure was hidden in the shadows beneath one of the trees on my right. It held a long, hooked staff in one hand, and I glimpsed something else in the other. I raised the spray, squinted down the line of fire, and growled, “Back off, asshole!” in my best bad-girl voice. Unimpressed, the figure lumbered forward. I prepared to shoot, run, and scream to high heaven if I needed to. He stepped out of the shadows, and I saw him clearly in the dim light. He was nude, with a head and torso much like a man’s, with curved horns and short curly hair atop his head, and a pointed beard on his chin. Below his waist, he had legs, fur and hooves like a goat or deer. I smelled him then, the clean musk of wild animals, pine woods, mountain flowers, and damp earth. “Pan!” I gasped, and began to lower the spray.
