Songwriter/ composer Kiya Heartwood is half of the folk and roll duo Wishing Chair. www.wishingchair.com. Kiya's larger works include song cycles for womens' and mixed chorus, "Lying to the Sea Gypsy" a pirate operetta for young people, soundtracks for independent films and "The Gaia Psalms", an earth based performance worship service for Unitarian Universalist congregations with narration by Rev. Meg Barnhouse. Kiya studied composition at Converse College and Westminster Choir College with composers, Dr. Scott Robbins, Dr. Joel Phillips and Dr. Stefan Young. Kiya is currently the Composer -in -Residence at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton.
