Hildy loves her little sister, but she gets very angry when Francesca takes her toys. What is Hildy supposed to do?
MIMI'S STRATEGIES are educational and offer young children a universal new way of solving their problems and having their needs met. The stories are short and simple with the emphasis on the main character's growth outward in concentric circles from her nuclear family setting to her broader school environment. Learning to think strategically, rather than reacting emotionally, is a valuable problem solving skill that will empower any child throughout his/her life. Competence is the mother of self-esteem. Being resourceful, thinking independently, and behaving assertively are behavior traits that motivate children toward individual thinking, achievement, compassion, and fairness on their journey to adulthood.

Pom, Xavier (illustrateur). nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - What can a child do when her little sister keeps taking her toys and every attempt to get them back seems to end in trouble Hildy loves her little sister, Francesca, but she gets frustrated when Francesca takes the toys Hildy is playing with. Hildy tries grabbing her toy back, using her words, and taking turns, but each attempt ends with Francesca crying and Hildy getting into trouble. Mimi helps Hildy find a different approach: instead of fighting over the toy, Hildy can stop, think strategically, and offer Francesca another toy. When Francesca takes Hildy's bunny, Hildy remembers Mimi's strategy, gives her a ducky instead, and gets her bunny back without an argument.Mimi's Strategy: 'Instead of grabbing your toy back, I want you to give Francesca a different toy.'What children will learn:¿ Pause and think before reacting when a sibling takes something they want.¿ Look for a practical solution instead of immediately arguing or grabbing.¿ Understand how offering an alternative can resolve a conflict peacefully.¿ Practice problem-solving and self-control during everyday sibling disagreements.Perfect for:¿ Homeschool and public-school families teaching sibling cooperation and problem-solving.¿ Homeschool and public-school educators discussing conflict resolution and self-control.¿ Parents managing arguments between young siblings over toys.¿ Grandparents looking for a practical story about sharing, patience, and family relationships.Part of the growing Mimi's Strategy series, an expanding collection of illustrated books by Linda Goudsmit that turn everyday childhood problems into opportunities to stop, think, and choose a successful strategy to solve each problem. Designed for ages 3-8, the series gives families and educators a warm, repeatable way to talk about responsibility, independence, competence, self-control, critical thinking, and family life.'Learning to think strategically rather than react emotionally is a valuable skill that will empower any child throughout his or her life. Plus, I have yet to meet the child who would prefer a reprimand to a kiss.' - Linda Goudsmit. N° de réf. du vendeur 9780983542568
