Heaven for everyone? An existential crisis after death? A story for the curious and the undecided.
Michael Greyson awoke one morning feeling better than he had in years. Unfortunately, he soon learned he felt so good because he had died the day before. The upside to being dead was he made it to Heaven. The potential downside was he didn’t believe in Heaven, or God.
Although Heaven is the last stop, Mike has a choice. This is a thoughtful story about being dead and Mike’s first ten days in Heaven; helped by his guide Pete, no relation to the famous saint.

AN ATHEIST AT THE PEARLY GATES
My First Ten Days in Heaven is a cheerful look at being dead. Michael Greyson was in the hospital again. He expected to go home, but one afternoon, with his family present, he went to sleep and didn’t wake up. At least, he didn’t wake up alive. Soon after opening his eyes to discover his new room, a young man named Pete arrived to give him the bad news and the good news. Mike listened with growing concern about being in Heaven. He had dumped religion in his forties. God didn't exist. Being in Heaven was a mistake. And if Heaven existed...
For ten days, Pete guided the new arrival through a strange and enlightening new life. Mike learned anything is possible in Heaven but wondered if he wanted this astonishing second chance. This is a story about a good man’s values being challenged even after his death.
My First Ten Days in Heaven explores the richness of life and the possibilities of an afterlife. Author Robert Brown captures our hopes and fears and tells us life can be its own reward when you do it right and Heaven is what you need it to be.
