I’m a merchant seaman by training. After graduation from the Merchant Marine Academy, I sailed for several years, and then spent thirty years as a marine consultant. I traveled widely, saw interesting things, and lived in several countries. I've had the good fortune (and sometime misfortune) of knowing more than a few interesting characters, and bits and pieces of them populate my novels. I write stories of people in extraordinary situations. Not superheroes, just ordinary people who screw up, but who rise to life’s challenges when the occasion demands.
