FORWARD This is a collection of many of my short stories, shorter stories and flash stories. Some are non-fiction, others are creative non-fiction, several are broad retakes of familiar stories, and others are total nonsense. There are a few monographs, a couple of essays and some general observations. Many are anthropomorphic while several are epiphanal.

Vaughn Phelps studied Architecture, but found office life stifling. Running a shop that made law enforcement equipment allowed contact with local, county, state police, F.B.I. and other agency representatives. Hearing stories of actual cases led to an interest in writing. Four novels, poorly written drove him to college courses at City College of San Francisco, University of San Francisco and College of Southern Idaho. After numerous completed Screenplays, he evolved into short stories and there we find him.
