Painter, DJ and nightlife promoter Spencer Sweeney (born 1973) has been an indelible and essential part of New York City's cultural landscape for almost two decades, connecting to longstanding roots in the city's music, art and life after dark. While many mourn the loss of the NYC they love, Sweeney has never fallen out of love with his city. This huge but affordable volume is filled with the evidence: pages of fascinating interviews with fellow faithfuls such as Alex Bag, Larry Clark, Abel Ferrara, John Giorno, Mary Heilmann, Harmony Korine, Johan Kugelberg, Jim Lambie, Glenn O'Brien, Will Oldham, Elizabeth Peyton, Rob Pruitt and Tony Shafrazi; archival photos documenting the countless moments, both legendary and obscure; and of course, hundreds of Sweeney's colorful paintings that synthesize life in New York in the second decade of the new century.

Hardcover. Etat : Good. Signed copy of this massive tome (500 pages) of a catalogue of the artist Spencer Sweeney. Signed by Sweeny on the verso of the first endpaper. Written in sharpie, sadly somewhat faded (looks like the marker was running out) - Spencer has also crossed out his printed name in the same faded marker on the opposite page. Besides that signature and inscription, no marks or damage to interior. Binding is solid, sturdy, square - no small feat for such a large volume. The reason condition is marked as "good" only is owing some wear and tear to boards. On the foredge of the front panel are 3 abrasions, one of them very minor and negligible, the two others deep and noticeable, with one exposing the board underneath the printed pictorial cover. At the back panel there is an abrasion at the crown of the spine also causing the covered board to be exposed a bit. Otherwise decent, with some minor bumping at corners. Now in mylar.
