Born in San Francisco, Thomas R. Bransten was a foreign correspondent with United Press International, and later, a reporter at The International Herald Tribune in Paris where he covered France’s long war with Algeria, the development of the French nuclear bomb, and two kidnappings: four-year old Eric Peugeot, heir to the automobile fortune, and the kidnap-murder of seven-year old Philippe Bertrand which briefly had all of Europe, and indeed the world, in an uproar. He is also the author of Cry Murder and Vienna & Other Stories, coming soon from Big Table Publishing Company.
