Synopsis

The Butterfly and Me is based on the true story of a young girl painted by the artist James McNeill Whistler in the 1870s. In the story, we meet Cicely Alexander and experience her adventures with Whistler and the difficulties of having her portrait painted.

Michele Swaner enjoyed a 35-year career in public affairs and reputation management. She also wrote professionally for publications and organizations in a variety of fields. She is the author of "Haunted Brooklyn," a collection of true-life ghost stories published under the name Kat Snow. She lives in Salt Lake City with her husband. They have two grown children.

Jerianne Van Dijk is a longtime artist whose vibrant watercolor work brings everything from architectural scenes to whimsical characters to life. She lives in the foothills of northern California and is known for her fine art.
