Frederick A. Thompson, CPA, CTC is the founder and principal of Frederick A. Thompson, CPA an Accountancy Corporation. He lives in Redwood City California with his wife. He has four grown daughters. With his wife, Lydia, Fred enjoys hiking the mountain trails in Northern California, walking the beach, as well as reading and travelling. He believes that balance and sharing with others are the keys to happiness. Fred concentrates on ProActive tax planning and is also a Certified Tax Coach. He specializes in helping his clients reduce their taxes to the absolute legal minimum and protecting them from tax audits. He focuses his extensive experience on working with real estate professionals and investors. Fred has worked with real estate developers, building operators, brokers, and agents. In addition, he is an affiliate member of his local real estate association. Fred is a frequent speaker to real estate groups about tax reduction strategies. He has testified in federal and California courts on family law matters and business disputes. Fred received his CPA certificate from California in 1974. To qualify he had to take college courses in business law, accounting, auditing, and taxation. And in addition pass a rigorous 2½ day board examination administered by the State of California. Each year since then he has taken continuing education courses in business and taxation to keep up with the ever-changing laws and regulations. Every two years the State of California requires him to take eighty hours of continuing education courses. He is known for helping individuals and businesses understand and navigate the complex financial, business and tax world. He believes in empowering individuals to take control of their future.
