Mark Barnes is a veteran classroom teacher, internationally recognized author and speaker, and creator of the Hack Learning Series. Mark is the author of six education books, including the critically acclaimed Role Reversal (ASCD, 2013) and Assessment 3.0 (Corwin, 2015), which encourages teachers to eliminate traditional grades and build an ongoing conversation about learning. His Facebook group, Teachers Throwing Out Grades, is a growing collection of educators, parents, and students, dedicated to changing the way learning is assessed in classrooms around the world. Mark is the publisher of the popular education blog, Brilliant or Insane, named a Top 10 education technology blog by EdTech Magazine. He can be found daily on Twitter @markbarnes19. Jennifer Gonzalez is a National Board Certified teacher. Her twelve years of classroom experience include teaching English language arts in middle school and preparing pre-service teachers at the college level.
