Much of the information in this eBook was adapted from a webinar hosted by UL. During that webinar, William Barry from UL presented information about the need for acoustic pressure testing, as well as technical information about the testing and the requirements. William Barry graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in electrical engineering. He joined UL in 1991 following his graduation. Barry’s experience with safety product evaluations ranges from work on cooking appliances to combustion equipment to burglar and fire alarm systems. He also has experience with EMC, environmental testing, and energy efficiency testing. Since 2007, Barry has focused on product safety for consumer technology products, with an emphasis on acoustic pressure testing.
