Synopsis

Terrific Teddy’s Writing Wars is a book for explaining dysgraphia to children or explaining writing difficulty to children. Dysgraphia is a term that includes difficulty putting thoughts onto paper, messy handwriting, copying problems and fine motor difficulty. You’ll meet Teddy – a smart boy who struggles to write down his thoughts and ideas and have neat penmanship. When his teacher and his parents discover the root of the problem, they’re able to give him the tools and support he needs. This book is designed for a parent, grandparent or teacher to read to a child to explain dysgraphia. In doing so, you form a team designed to help the child learn and grow, despite his or her learning differences. In the book’s introduction, author and school psychologist Jim Forgan, Ph.D., explains how to discuss dysgraphia with children in a way that’s hopeful and encouraging. The book offers two endings so parents can choose to use the term dysgraphia with their child or just a general description.
