Synopsis

It's been three years since her husband died. Julie battles loneliness. She's concerned about her son taking a wrong path. Her best friend, Liz, urges her to start dating. Janet Simcic is a free-lance writer from Southern California. Her articles have appeared in many magazines as well as the Orange County Register. Her first novel, "The Man at the Caffe' Farnese," is what prompted her to write the sequel, "The Man at the Spanish Steps." She also wrote, "The Man at the Rialto Bridge" - a novel taking place on a Mediterranean Cruise. Her extensive travel to Italy, her love of the culture and language, prompted her to write a non-fiction book..."An American Chick's Guide to Italy." She enjoys writing, traveling, polishing her fluency the the Italian language, and consults with travelers who are going to Italy for the first time. She is active in the California Writers' Club, community activities, her church, directs a critique group and loves spending time with her 15 grandchildren. Simcic taught English and History to gifted students, co-owned a large construction company with her husband, and ran a secretarial business. She also edits manuscripts and theses for grad students. Her favorite authors are Nicholas Sparks, Daniel Silva and Brad Thor. Simcic is a speaker at women's organizations and appears at many book clubs and is active in many local authors' events.
