Are you so certain that what you see is all there is? Look again. Your eyes are lying. Asher never knew that the secrets burned into his very skin were anything other than the remnants of a trauma he didn’t want, nor care, to remember. Raglan knew better. Join Asher as his grip on reality is torn asunder when he is plunged headlong into a desperate fight for survival. Hunted by the murderous Mortis Skulk and subjected to the blood-wielding Cruaar, Asher must master the impossible, or be killed by it. Plumb the depths of treachery, conspiracy, friendship, loyalty, debt and honour as the author seamlessly interweaves fantasy with modern-day reality in this larger-than-life epic.

Joey Rawlings has inarguably tipped the scales in creativity’s favour with the addition of his first Novel, The Frailty of Perception, to the ever burgeoning ranks of contemporary fantasy writers. A self-admitted creative despot, the challenge of writing a single novel has only awakened the desire to write and as such, his debut novel is merely the first installment in a much larger series, the Asher Bloom Chronicles. Brief Bio: Joey started writing his first novel at the age of 21 in whatever time he could spare between full-time study at University and full-time work in the hospitality sector. However, the lure of travel soon overtook his creative desires, at least for a time, and although he did graduate university, he never finished his first novel. After three years spent travelling all over the world, he returned home, started a publishing company and again, in whatever time he had leftover, began formulating ideas for a new personal project: an epic, contemporary fantasy that would eventually become The Frailty of Perception; Book 1 of The Asher Bloom Chronicles. When Joey is not writing or editing his novels, dabbling in graphic design, illustration, and web design, you can find him either travelling the world or working full-time in other endeavours. But he does like to take time out to enjoy a few of the simple pleasures in life. The first and foremost being a glass of single-malt scotch, or if none can be found, a delicious craft beer. Though if you do encounter him in your travels it’ll most likely be on a plane to somewhere remote, conversing with fellow travelers in a local bar, on a dive boat amidst the deep blue sea, or atop a mountain of fresh powder with a snowboard underfoot. However, he is never happier than when he is beside a warm fire, or a remote beach, with a good book in hand.
