A unique blend of novel and memoir, "Suicide Escape" engages 15-year-old Clarissa Coleman’s mental battlefield as prepares to take her life, too far lost in depression to see a future filled with anything except misery. Confronted just in time by an elderly hiker whose struggle with teen depression reflects the author’s life, Clarissa is trapped between curiosity about the potential for a less troubled future and an intense desire to end her ongoing pain. Nature intervenes to twist an already emotional encounter in unexpected directions. The story combines raw, honest perspectives on depression with uplifting messages that better paths exist to be discovered or created. A compelling, thought-provoking drama that is a must read for struggling youth, their families and friends and anyone battling depression. Some harsh language included. Fifty percent of author profits being donated to mental health organizations.

Despite battling depression as a teen, Mike Bushman went on to personal and professional success. His latest novel/memoir shares insights on life that he wishes he had understood as a youth. Armed with a BS in journalism from the University of Illinois and an MBA, with honors, from the University of Chicago, Mike Bushman spent twenty-five years working in the interwoven worlds of national and global government, business and the media. Mike’s first two novels, Melting Point 2040 and Secession 2041, tell action-suspense stories of a future America segregating toward division. He is currently writing a third novel in that series describing a pathway toward reuniting the nation around a common but politically neglected moral principle. While set in the same time span as the trilogy, Suicide Escape is intended to be able to be read and understood independently of those novels. The story focuses on what is, unfortunately, a timeless challenge. Contact Mike at: www.mbushman.com www.facebook.com/AuthorMikeBushman Twitter: @m_bushman
