Synopsis

The Fire Reply follows the story of Church of the Undignified. Immersed in the passion and needs of central Seattle’s soil, this book is the account of Benji and Abbi Rodes’ discovery of God’s nature and the ministry of Jesus. Christians are powerful and are intended to transform cities and nations. This is God’s plan of salvation for the world. In our world’s darkness we cry out for Him to come and establish His kingdom, and, as in Acts, He responds by putting a fire on His people and equipping them with the power and authority to bring His realm into ours.

À propos de l'auteur

Benji Rodes is a third generation pastor in the church of the Nazarene. He studied theology at Northwest Nazarene University and went on to complete his MA in World Mission and Evangelism at Asbury Theological Seminary in 2002. Receiving a blank canvas as a job description, he and Abbi moved into central Seattle in 2002 to attempt to bring some light to the need. But the main revelation they received was that THEY were in need. In need of the fire of God. In need of an encounter. In need of His gifts. In need of true faith. They operated a free arts venue called Onthe House for 6 years. They also lived in and operated "The Healing House" for 4 years as a means to meet the need for a healing environment to surround those who had been deeply wounded. They continue in their hunger for His kingdom come and His nature to rest on them as they work within Church of the Undignified (the Body that emerged out of Onthe House) to create a community of people that host the power and presence of God Himself. Benji and Abbi have two children and reside in the Central District of Seattle.
