The State of Black Rochester 2013 is a compilation of local data followed by essays from community leaders and experts in Rochester, NY that detail current disparities in health, education, economic development, criminal justice and more. The book was commissioned by the African American Giving Initiative of Rochester Area Community Foundation in an effort to launch a discussion on these important issues, focus community action on solutions, and direct public and private resources to areas of the greatest need. Proceeds from the sale of this book will benefit the Giving Initiative and its annual grantmaking.
