MELISSA MULLIN fell in love with teaching while designing educational computer games for The Walt Disney Educational Media Company. Pursuing that interest, she received a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, with a specialization in Learning and instruction from UCLA. Enjoying the challenge of helping students at all levels learn, she opened the K&M Center, a learning center in Santa Monica, CA with Karen Fried, Psy.D. As creators of the K&M Center, Karen and Melissa set themselves a mission to help every student learn to his or her potential. Melissa and Karen work with parents, teachers, tutors and other professionals to individualize a truly effective program for each child. After over 18 years of helping thousands of children learn to read, write and achieve in school Melissa is now using the knowledge she has gained to create products that can guide teachers and parents who wish to help children learn. In her blog, www.bitsofwisdomforall.com, Melissa shares the insights she gathers as she works with her students and their families. In addition to teaching, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family reading, biking and skiing.
