Synopsis

It’s Just a Couch is a collection of true stories that reveals how God is in the small, everyday moments of life. Walking with God is not something that is reserved for Sunday mornings, Wednesday night youth groups, or weekly Bible studies. God is with us every day, speaking to us, teaching us, and using the ordinary experiences of our lives to show us extraordinary ways to live better and be more like Him. For some reason, we think God only reveals Himself in grandiose ways, in those real eye-catching moments or special times. But what if God was always talking, always teaching, always with us? Not just in the glorious sunrises or the desperate times, but when we are sweeping the kitchen floor or talking on the phone in our office? What if every moment was a chance to see God revealed more? What if we could change our viewpoint and see things through His eyes? Wouldn’t that change everything about how we do life? It’s Just a Couch shows how each moment in our lives is an opportunity to change our perspectives so we can see God is with us, showing us how we can be more like Him.

À propos de l'auteur

TravisVoskamp lives in Midland, Texas with his witty wife and four spirited youngsters. He is a Dean of Students at Midland Classical Academy where he spends most of his time encouraging others, laughing, and drinking lots of coffee. The inspirations for his stories have come from fly-fishing with friends, restoring old motorcycles in his shop, and driving late at night cross-country with his wife, sleeping kids, and a cup of coffee. Interestingly enough, writing about his life and the small moments where God has helped change his thinking, has led Travis to trust God more and take bigger leaps of faith that make life exciting and worth living. His journey to live differently and the discoveries made along the way are being chronicled at travisvoskamp.com.
