The idea of victory, success or triumph is something everyone has thought of at some time in their life. Everyone has had a dream of doing something that would not only impact their lives, but the lives of those that surround them. Most people spend their entire lives talking about what they are going to do, but rarely get around to doing anything. Constantly using words like ONE DAY, SOME DAY, ALMOST, or TOMMOROW to describe their time frame for committing to doing something different so they can get something different. Statistics prove that people generally never regret the things they did do. Instead, they tend to regret the things they didn’t do. Out of seven days in a week we know that SOMEDAY just isn’t one of them. The Word of God says that TODAY is the day of salvation. You have the ability to make a decision right now to move away from that dark hole that holds you captive from having a breakthrough! You can do something about it today.I often hear the infamous words “I WILL TRY,” after training or teaching tools for success. It is time we put the words “I’ WILL TRY” to rest. Believers in Christ should get rid of the “I will try to change” or “I will try to succeed” attitude. We are giving ourselves permission to fail when we use these words. As Yoda so famously stated, “Do or do not. There is NO try.” The word ‘try’ is almost as disempowering as the word ‘can’t.’ It shows a lack of belief in a positive outcome and a lack of belief in one’s self to get the job done no matter how many times it takes. We often quote scripture like, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world,” or, “I can do ALL things through Christ which strengthens me,” yet we shrink under the pressure that comes with success or victory when confronted with opportunity to make a difference. Instead of having the attitude that we will TRY we should start using empowering phrases like, I CAN, I WILL, I AM or I DID. Can you see the difference words make as we embark on the journey of being an overcomer, a doer, and a difference maker? One of my mentors, Paul Orberson, would say, “You try peas and carrots, but you do this.” Art Williams would say, “Just do it.” Our challenge is realizing the greatest enemy we will ever face is ourselves. The battle rages inwardly everyday between remaining positive and upbeat or being depressed and discouraged by our circumstances. It will require great discipline to truly succeed at anything, but with unwavering faith in what God has already promised us as children of the Most High, we all have the ability to accomplish whatever we set out to do. Our inadequacies are inferior to the potential for greatness that lies within each of us. We were made in His image therefore the very DNA of a sovereign God resides in each of us just waiting to be released. As we take this journey together, you will find the courage to stand tall in the middle of chaos, crisis, or adversity, and recognize the authority you truly have to be the architect of your own destiny—the CEO of your own life. You alone have the power to create a world where you can walk in favor, increase, and over flow based on the decisions you make TODAY. No longer will we tolerate procrastination based on fears that hold us back.
