Whether it is alcohol, drugs, sex, food, money, exercise, or something (or someone) else, moderation is not an option for me. This story is about the one addiction—alcohol— that controlled every aspect of my life and impacted the lives of my friends and family for thirty some years. It is my journey through the best of times and the worst of times as an addict alcoholic. It is my story about learning to live in sobriety and learning to look in the mirror to understand the reality of that reflection. I am not addicted to sobriety. For me, I have to work every second of every minute of every day to stay sober and, ultimately, my story is about how I keep the “addict” away from the “alcohol”.
