Synopsis

Have you ever had a plan of something so special and wonderful happening, only to have it not turn out quite how you thought it would? This true story will take you on the journey of a little girl and the birdhouse that she built with the hopes of enticing a little feathered family to make their home through the perfect circle doorway. When she realizes that, just because things didn't turn out how she thought they would, it does not mean that it wasn't an incredible experience, and something special to hold onto. This story for adults and children illustrates the notion that children learn what they live, as we all realize that life's experiences have something to teach us, and can shape the person we become. The vibrant watercolor paintings capture the imagination and take the reader through the wonderful experience of little birds building their nest, and the surprising and unexpected destination of the birdhouse. This is the perfect children's read aloud story for even the youngest of bird lovers. This is a children's interactive book, as the author included a construction page at the end of the story with directions for building your very own birdhouse. Your birdhouse could be featured on the publisher's website!

A propos du livre

À propos de l'auteur

Shannon spent her childhood in the pristine mountains of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Inspired by the beauty of nature all around her, she spent many days running through the pine and aspen trees that surrounded her home. After immersing herself in children's literature and telling this story to her elementary students for the past 15 years, she finally decided to write the story of The Perfect Birdhouse, and follow her dream to see this story as a children's book. She'll never forget the sweet moment in time as she watched a room full of children reading her book! She hopes you will see, just as she did, that some things are meant to be. Shannon is already starting on her next project of writing a series of children's farm books combining her childhood memories with her love for teaching children to read. She now lives in Southern California with her husband and two young sons.
