In this engaging new business book, “Collaborative Leadership,” George O’Meara reveals how he went from carrying a bag (sales) to the top ranks of executive management. With entertaining anecdotes and plenty of “secret sauce,” O’Meara describes his personal transformation from a Chicago kid with “street smarts” into the leader of a high-functioning organization – and challenges you to do the same. O’Meara shows you how to create a self-governing team through collaborative leadership. You’ll learn what it took, in the real world (none of this is “theoretical”) to create an organization capable of running a $6-billion-a -year services business. The process starts with your own personal growth and, enabled through the right strategies and management tools, spreads out and permeates the whole organization. No matter what the size of your business, this book is crammed full of important lessons-learned that will make you a better leader.Truly effective leaders are a rare breed. “Collaborative Leadership” shows you what it takes to fill the leadership gap so that you, your people, and your business can reach their full potential.

George O’Meara grew up on the north side of Chicago in the late 60’s. The lessons he learned about leadership started there and continued throughout his colorful career. A salesperson by trade and a leader by calling, George’s experience spans a broad range of technologies and solution services. George is a former Senior Vice President of Cisco Services for US & Canada where he grew the Services business from $800M to $6B in less than 10 years. He holds a B.S. degree in marketing from Northern Illinois University, where he played middle linebacker in Division 1 football. (Go Huskies!) George believes the lessons of leadership are applicable both in the workplace and in the home. He counts as his greatest treasures in life his lovely wife, Barbara, his daughter, two sons, and his grandchildren.
