Donna Skeels Cygan, CFP®, MBA is the owner of the financial advisory firm Sage Future Financial, LLC. Previously recognized as one of the top financial advisors in the U.S., she has been quoted in many publications, including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Forbes, Kiplingers, USA Today, and Investment News. As a fee-only financial advisor for the past 15 years, she owned Essential Financial Planning, Inc. for ten years before selling it in 2007 to devote more time to her family. She worked for the buyer for a year and then honored a non-compete clause during 2009. During that year she was contacted by several previous clients, asking if she would return as their financial planner. During her year off she realized that her passion lies in working directly with her clients, and she launched Sage Future Financial with a commitment to limit the number of clients she serves to one third of her prior firm. This commitment allows her time to write and have time for her family. She lives in Albuquerque with her husband, two cats and a dog. Their two daughters are away at college.
