Synopsis

In this eighteenth volume of Diane Marquart Moore's poetry, she explores the lives and departures of loved ones—the many family passings... writing: "their points of departure felt...the faces appearing often enough...[leaving] enough of themselves with me." Among the faces are departed teachers and musicians, including jazz musician "Bird" Parker and Amédé Ardoin, Cajun singer and accordionist. The poignant, sometimes sardonic poems portray ordinary as well as extraordinary people who have left their unforgettable imprint and helped form the poet's life.

À propos de l'auteur

Diane Marquart Moore is the author of books, short stories, articles, and poetry. Her poetry and short stories have been published in The Southwestern Review at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Interdisciplinary Humanities, The Xavier Review, American Weave, Louisiana Historical Review, Trace, Pinyon Review, Acadiana Profile Magazine, and other literary journals. She was awarded a grant to have her young adult book, Martin's Quest, placed on the supplementary reading list for Social Studies in Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes. This book was also finalist in the Heekins Foundation Award Contest for an outstanding young adult book. Diane has been Associate Editor of Acadiana Lifestyle, New Iberia, Louisiana, feature writer and columnist for The Daily Iberian, New Iberia, as well as feature writer for The Yaddasht Haftegy in Ahwaz, Iran where she lived for two years during the reign of the Shahanshah. She divides her time between New Iberia, Louisiana and Sewanee, Tennessee.
