Synopsis

A Horse of a Different Color is a shift from what a reader would normally expect of a story about a boy and a horse. With a winding plot the young boy begins to understand what it means to be part of something much larger than himself, as the horse and its curator become a catalyst to new experiences in his life. Those experiences then function as a reminder to what we all inherently know as true, but often forget. A Horse of a Different Color will help remind the reader that we merely need to ask for help whenever we feel the need.

À propos de l'auteur

Born in Michigan, J. A. Burkel grew up around many animals, as his grandfather owned and operated a farm that mostly produced milk and eggs. J. A. Burkel attended many local fairs during his childhood, and was always intrigued by the animals in the 4H display. He also could never understand why a Clydesdale couldn’t be ridden. They sure seemed pleasant enough to him. It wasn’t until he was close enough to a Clydesdale that he understood why it was nearly impossible to even sit on the back of one. J. A. Burkel continues to have a profound respect for nature and animals of all kinds.
