Fourth, The book presents a paradigm for examining your own family amid 7 facets (Pillars) of Christian family. The book does not tell you how you should practice your faith or your family but instead examines scriptural principles to help you understand your family and to intentionally raise Godly children. There is much opportunity for reflection and the spiritual depth of the content make this more than a book; it is a spiritual pilgrimage.

R. Thomas Schwind and Todd Gates have a combined 41 years as Pastors, 46 years as parents and have extensive Theological training. Schwind holds a Doctor of Ministry Degree and Gates a Masters of Divinity. They both care deeply about families which prompted them to write this book helping Christians to understand parenting from a Biblical viewpoint. The book is not a list of how-tos but an opportunity to change perspective and understand the role of parent from a biblical perspective. 32 sets of reflect questions turn this book into a spiritual pilgrimage.
