Synopsis

The merman king's forces close in on the capitol city of Tir fo Thuinn. Queen Merkim and her brave paladins are challenged on all sides by the faceless hordes unleashed from the merman mountain stronghold of Uln. Surrounded and challenged both inside and outside the city walls, little hope remains for the merrow queen and her allies. The chosen human pair has been found, and Merkim is hopeful they can solve the mystery of a sacred gem and save the kingdom. However, a problem exists. The queen has the Eye of Danu, but the pair is stranded on the other side. The king's henchmen have closed the portal to the human world. It seems no avenue remains to join the pair and the gem before the city falls. The fourth and final novel of the Merkim's Promise saga brings the story of an American family and a faerie queen to a close. Can Merkim, her human allies, and her brave paladins solve the gem's secret and prevail over King Rax's onslaught against her kingdom? It may all depend on The Queen's Gambit.
