A resource for families to initiate conversation with young children about Alzheimer's and dementia, containing activities for all ages. It can be confusing and possibly frightening for children to experience changes in a loved one. Just Like Me handles the confusion, and lets children know that their loved one is still there, and more like them than before. The colorful illustrations enable young children to retell the story using picture cues. While the story is written for small children, the variety of follow-up discussion questions and activities lend themselves to all ages. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association.

Alice Konchuba, author, was a care partner for her mother-in-law, who lived with Alzheimer's disease for many years. It has been a mission of hers to see this story printed with the hope that it can be useful in initiating conversation with young children about this devastating disease. Kristen Brammer, illustrator, is a pediatric nurse who was introduced to the trials and tribulations of Alzheimer's disease at an early age when her grandmother was diagnosed. She feels seeing the disease through the eyes of a child adds a joyful sensibility offering hope through familiarity.
