Synopsis

A strange illness stalks the United States capital, Washington D.C. The spreading, fatal menace forces the young Epidemic Intelligence Service Officers assigned to the case, Claire Connolly and Dorian Spring, to acknowledge the real threat of a haunting pandemic for which they have identified no cure. For the inexperienced and polar opposite partners, the threat escalates as they uncover mounting evidence that the disease is a man-made epidemic, deliberately released. As they struggle to help their colleagues and the uncountable millions at risk for infection, they find themselves fighting a shadow organization that has its sights set on far more grandiose goals than the simple acquisition of an army of ghastly super-soldiers: goals left festering since the end of the Cold War.

À propos de l'auteur

The author hails from the West, but now resides in the nation's capital. He has held many passports and multiple unrelated academic degrees, and enjoys convoluted thought-experiments in his spare time. His favorite foods are sushi and pizza, a fact noted in his first book two decades ago which remains unchanged.
