Organizations across all industries, of all sizes, and across all markets domestically and abroad are looking for ways to capitalize on the opportunities that Managed Print Services (MPS) promises. Whether yours is an organization that is considering MPS as a solution to improve a business process or function; reduce your costs of print, copy, and fax, while providing additional efficiencies; or an organization that is offering Managed Print Services as a solution to your customers’ challenges, one thing remains consistent: organizations are looking for insight and best practices for how to get started with MPS, how to fully exploit it, and how to avoid the risks and capitalize on the strengths of the solution. The intent of this book is to help do just that.

Tab Edwards is a consultant, author and lecturer with more than 25 years of experience in, consulting, sales, entrepreneurship and business management, and is considered to be one of the foremost authorities in the world on the topic of Managed Print Services and optimizing inefficient office output environments. Tab has worked with companies on Imaging & Output-related projects — and Managed Print Services specifically — since 1998. He developed a Hewlett-Packard MPS assessment process (which he originally named the Hardcopy Operational Assessment or “HOA”) and helped develop HP’s Managed Print Services offering. He has worked with some of the world’s largest companies on global Imaging & Output-related engagements, including 7 of the top 20 Fortune 500 Corporations, as well as scores of SMBs and even some Mom-n-Pops. The initiatives include Managed Print Services consulting, MPS sales, MPS Assessments, DISC workshops, Imaging & Output Business Process engagements and Strategy development. He has held award-winning positions at some of the world’s most admired companies, including the IBM Corporation, General Electric, SMCC and Hewlett-Packard where he spent 13 years in sales, global and senior consulting positions. He is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt Practitioner and is a frequent guest speaker at seminars and industry events including AIIM (the Association for Information and Image Management) and ImagePrint. Tab is the author of four books (three on the topic of Imaging & Output) including: Paper Problems, Imaging & Output Strategy, MPS: Managed Print Services and “Coffee is for Closers Only!” (The Oxford Hill Press).
